Ashley + Phil | Caddo Lake

Yeah, so I finally got around to setting up this whole blog thingy 😉  Bare with me as I am a math person and I tend to type like I talk! It’s one long sentence with a whole lotta commas!! 🙂

So…on we go!

Oh Em Gee! I had the honor of photographing not only Ashley and Phil’s engagement session, but it was also their first time ever being photographed together!

Ashley did such an incredible job choosing their location.  She chose the place where Phil proposed….awwwww….he’s freaking prince charming! I mean come on! This place is seriously magical!

  

When Ashley first approached me late in 2014, she had asked me would I be willing to go to Caddo Lake for their engagement session.  I’ll admit, I had NEVER even heard of this place before.  Then, she showed me some pictures…that’s it. done. we. are. going.  This place was not just a special location for Ashley and Phil but it is also an incredible place to shoot!  Heck, I’m even going to set me and my husband up a get-a-way weekend here!

This was not just your typical shoot, we was fightin’ gatas y’all!! Just kidding, we didn’t actually see any gators but we know they were lurking around 😉  I also have to confess how hysterical this shoot was!

One of my best friends, Erica, is actually a bridesmaid in Ashley & Phil’s nuptials next month! She is also someone who has dabbled in photography! She came along with me on this session and definitely help things stay interesting 😉 Let’s just say, at one point I wasn’t sure if we’d live or die HAHAHAHA! Just kidding, that tree was coming fast though! I’m not sure what was funnier, her john boat navigation skills or Phil’s acceleration being directly related to the volume of his voice! HAHAHA Let me set the scene, Phil, Erica and I were all in the john boat pulling little ol’ Ashley in the canoe behind us. Well, as we were talking, Phil was getting louder, and as he got louder, his hand twisted further and further, that is until we heard the muffled yells of Ashley, “SLOW DOWN! SLOW DOWN!” As we turn around to see what all the fuss was about, there was no Ashley, just the under side of a canoe, the nose was sticking straight up! BAHAHAHAHAHA, she must have been terrified, but i’ll admit it was one of the highlights of the trip. So aside, from john boat drivin’, gator swerving, anchoring with vines, we were able to capture some seriously breath taking photos from their engagement session! Here are a few more of that super memorable day!
